n 24th May,the journalist of WMG visited the headquarter of Standard Life in UK. From Chengdu to London,we traveled from summer to winter. The freezing rainy wind was coming from straight ahead and catching the unsuspecting visitors off guard. Similarly,it is what happened in financial crisis. Many banks and insurance companies lacking capital strength were taken over and collapsed. But in numerous economic storm over 100 years,Standard Life becomes more powerful and timeless. Gerry Grimstone,Standard Life Chairman,told the journalist of WMG:Always remember the history,and be proud of it. Meanwhile,insist on innovation instead of resting on your laurels. This business concept has been spreading in China.“Prepare for promises lasting for 100 years.”Zhenyu Liu,the general manager of Heng An Standard Life,would like to make his company be century’s standing as his partner,Standard Life. Being century’s standing,we must predict all sorts of crisis in 100 years in advance. Resolving the crisis,we should maintain the basic business principles:Trust,always think of customers. Don’t just think about the commission or profit. Protect customers’ interests. Standard Life from Scotland set an example for us. For Chinas Insurance industry,we must remember:Chinese insurance market is not dominated by one company.Additionally,it is becoming impossible to create profit by relationship,deceit and contracts with pitfalls. If we could not prepare for the promises lasting for 100 years,we will have to quiver in the cold wind.
  英国似乎只有两个季节,一个是“冬季”,另一个是“大约在冬季”。
  5月24日华西“财富全球行”记者前往英国探访世界500强英国标准人寿,从成都到伦敦,仿佛就直接从夏天抵达了冬天。夹雨的风,刺骨的扑面而来,让事先没有充分准备的外来客,个个猝不及防。
  这很像屡次金融风暴中那些因资本不够强势而被收购甚至轰然倒闭的银行与保险公司。
  但在一百多年的无数次经济狂风暴雨中,老牌的英国标准人寿没有倒下,相反却愈发强大。
  英国标准人寿董事长杰瑞·格 里 斯 通(Standard Life Chairman Gerry Grimstone)在接受专访时的话掷地有声:永远铭记历史,并为之骄傲,但同时又必须创新,不能只是躺在辉煌的历史上,历史不能帮你产生业务。
  这样的企业经营理念现在也开始传入中国。
  “时刻为100年后还在生效的承诺做准备。”中国恒安标准人寿总经理刘振宇盼望和合资者英国标准人寿一样,开成百年老店。
  但要成为百年老店,就必须要提前预判到100年内的种种危机。而化解种种危机,有其最基本的商业原则:信任、永远为客户着想;不要只想着佣金或者利润,而要更多想怎么打理好客户的钱。穿裙子的苏格兰英标人,给我们做出了示范。
  对于中国的保险行业来说,一定要明白一个事实:在中国保险市场吃独食的日子,已经一去不复返;靠亲朋邻里的友情赞助增加客户、靠坑蒙骗手段拉客户、靠冗长并涉嫌故意遍布陷阱的合同套牢客户,这样的日子,亦屈指可数。
  如果不能时刻为100年后还在生效的承诺做准备,那你肯定只能在寒风中瑟瑟发抖。
